1. About the directory

The Overwhelmed Parent Co. (TOPC) provides a directory designed to help people find local businesses offering practical services. Some listings are free and some businesses may pay for additional visibility or directory features.

Using the directory means you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't rely on or use the directory.

2. TOPC connects you with businesses — we don't provide their services

Unless we clearly say otherwise, the businesses listed on TOPC are independent third parties. TOPC is not their employer, agent or service provider and is not a party to the agreement you make with them.

If you contact, book or purchase from a listed business, the service, price, payment arrangements, availability, cancellation terms and any other booking conditions are between you and that business.

3. Listings and directory information

We aim to keep directory information useful and current, but information can change. A listing may be supplied by a business, gathered from publicly available information, submitted through a nomination, or updated after a business claims its listing.

Please check important details directly with the business before relying on them, including service areas, pricing, availability, qualifications, licences, insurance or other requirements relevant to the service you need.

If something appears incorrect, you can use the Contact Us form or the Report Issue option on a listing.

4. Paid placement and how results appear

TOPC offers paid listing tiers that can receive additional visibility and features. Paid listings may receive priority placement, enhanced styling, larger desktop presentation or other features described on our For Businesses page.

Payment does not mean TOPC considers a business better, safer or more suitable than another business. It also does not buy community recommendations.

Directory results can vary based on the filters or search terms used, service area, listing tier, availability features and other directory functionality. A paid listing does not guarantee a fixed numbered position, enquiries or bookings.

5. Community recommendations

The recommendation feature is intended for people who have personally used a business and would recommend it to someone else locally. Recommendation counts are community signals, not ratings or endorsements by TOPC.

Businesses must not buy, fabricate or manipulate recommendations, recommend themselves, or pressure people to submit misleading recommendations. We may remove recommendations or restrict activity where we reasonably believe the feature is being misused.

6. Available This Week

Any “Available This Week” information is provider-reported and is intended as a helpful indication only. Availability can change after a business submits its update and is not a confirmed booking.

Contact the business directly to confirm that the time or service you need is still available.

7. Choosing a business

You are responsible for deciding whether a business is suitable for your needs. TOPC does not independently guarantee every statement made by a listed business or every community recommendation.

For services where qualifications, registrations, licences, insurance, safety checks or other credentials matter, you should verify them before engaging the business.

8. Monthly Parent Care Package

TOPC may run a free monthly promotional draw offering a $150 Care Package prize. Entries close at 11:59pm AEST on the last calendar day of each month. One recipient is randomly selected from eligible entries on the 5th of the following month and notified by email.

The selected recipient has 7 days from the notification email to reply and confirm their preferred payment method. Once the required payment details are received, TOPC will transfer the $150 prize within 3 business days. If the selected recipient does not reply within 7 days despite reasonable contact efforts, the prize will be redrawn from the remaining eligible entries on the 15th of that month.

The selected recipient may choose how to use the $150. TOPC may suggest the directory as a place to find practical local help, but the recipient is not required to use a listed business or a Care Package sponsor.

A business sponsoring or contributing towards a Care Package does not receive a community recommendation, endorsement, guaranteed booking or special directory ranking because of that sponsorship.

9. Problems with a business or service

If there is a problem with a service you booked from a listed business, contact that business first. Your rights and remedies relating to that service are generally against the business supplying it, subject to applicable law.

You can also report a directory concern to TOPC. We may review listings and take reasonable moderation action, but we don't promise to investigate or resolve private disputes between users and businesses.

10. Acceptable use

Please don't misuse the directory, interfere with the website, submit knowingly false information, impersonate another person or business, manipulate community features, scrape the directory at scale, or use TOPC in a way that is unlawful or harmful.

We may restrict access to features or remove content where reasonably necessary to protect users, businesses, TOPC or the integrity of the directory.

11. Links to other websites

Listings and resources may link to websites, booking systems or social-media pages operated by third parties. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. A link from TOPC does not mean we control that third-party service.

12. Liability and your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.

To the extent permitted by law, TOPC is not responsible for loss caused by your dealings with an independent listed business, reliance on information that has changed or is inaccurate, or the acts or omissions of third-party websites and services.

13. Changes to the directory or these terms

We may improve, add, remove or change directory features over time. We may also update these terms when the directory or applicable requirements change. The date at the top shows the latest update.
